We offer several mental health sessions for the teens in our care.
All residents are assigned a registered therapist
Group therapy sessions are facilitated twice a week
Psychosocial group sessions are offered daily
We have a calm down room for the residents, in the event they need their own personal space. In the calm down room, residents have access to independent activities and music therapy to alleviate those moments when you just need time to yourself.
The teen will be taught skills to redirect their anger and effectively communicate
Our team develops a plan with the teen to develop coping skills to manage their anger
Behavioral specialists may be assigned to the child if they have a history of continuous negative behaviors.
Each Child Care staff member is trained to identify stressors for the adolescent and assist in prompting the teen to use their coping skills.
It's not just the mind, the body requires nourishment as well
Residents are offered outdoor activities to participate in weekly. Hiking, trail walking, bicycling, zip-lining, swimming are all offered activities.
All teens are issued gym memberships through the YMCA and have the option of going daily, to participate in physical activities
Teens are taught how to identify healthy meal replacements. They are given healthy options and meal choices throughout the week, to which they create their own menu.

Teens who may have trouble with hygiene or manners in a social setting receive courses on etiquette and proper table manners. Teens will also be taught how to appropriately keep their personal space clean and neat.
Teens are shown how to fill out job applications and conduct mock interviews in order to get them prepared for the work force.
They are shown how to fill out school forms, search for colleges or trades and how to open a personal bank account.
Driving school/trade school are offered on a case by case basis for the teens in the program who are aging out. Based on the success of the resident within the program, Driving school will be offered as a reward from the GTH program.
Teens are placed on a point system. When they receive all their points for the week, they are issued $40 weekly in allowance to use as they wish. Allowance will be adjusted based on the point level sheet at the end of the week.

Residents are offered psychiatric assessment and medication management to assist in their mental health management.
Each resident is assigned a PCP upon entry of the program. They are assisted in any medical need they may have.
